How do I tie on a dog or cat bandana?

Stand behind or beside your pet and place the bandana around your pet’s neck. Hold both ends of the bandana with one side in each hand and tie the ends together. It should fit underneath his/her chin and be secured at the top of his/her neck.

Make sure the bandana fits properly and does not pose a choking or tripping hazard. It should be snug but not too tight. You should be able to fit 2 fingers between your pet’s neck and the bandana. If it’s too tight, untie and tie looser. You also do not want the bandana to be too loose that your dog/cat can trip on it or chew on it. Be especially careful with bandanas with embellishments such as pom poms. They are very stylish but can be a choking hazard if your dog/cat chews one off.

For safety reasons, All Tails Wag recommends using a hair tie instead of tying the ends of the bandana together. To do this, hold both ends of the bandana together around your pet’s neck. Secure a hair tie around the ends of the bandana. We like this method because it is easier for a bandana to come loose if caught on something. We strongly recommend this method if you plan on wearing bandanas at the dog park or in homes with multiple pets.

If the bandana is too long, roll the bandana from the top until the length is just right. Since all bandanas from All Tails Wag are reversible, you have two options to do this. You can roll the fabric inward so only one fabric is showing. You can also roll the fabric outward to show off both prints at once.

Bandanas are accessories, not toys. Always monitor and supervise your pet while wearing a bandana. Do not allow other furrends to chew or tug on the bandana.
