Common Plants that are Toxic to Dogs
Ah, springtime and dogs! It’s such a great combination. The weather is perfect for taking your pup for a stroll or for a playdate in the park or for a fun photoshoot.
We love taking pictures of our dogs outside but know it’s important to make sure they are safe from toxic plants. We love the All Tails Wag Spring 2023 collection as it’s perfect for outdoor photos in the park. Check it out here.
It’s important to be aware of which plants may be toxic to dogs if they are allowed to eat them. It’s important to watch for signs of poisoning, such as vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. If you suspect your dog has ingested a toxic plant, please contact your veterinarian immediately.
Here is a list of common plants that are toxic to dogs:
- Azalea
- Daffodil
- Foxglove
- Lily of the Valley
- Rhododendron
- Oleander
- Tulip
- Sago Palm
- Castor Bean
- Yew
If you have any of these plants around your home, it’s best to keep your dog away from them. Additionally, keep an eye out for signs of an allergic reaction such as sneezing, coughing, itchy skin, and watery eyes. If you think your dog may be having an allergic reaction to a plant, it’s best to consult with a vet.
